Business Booming for Young Entrepreneurs

Businesses are beating a path to the door of two former school pals running their own award-winning computer software company.

Just four years after 20-year-old entrepreneur Graham Allen set up business from his home near Petersfield, his company, The Page Designer, sister company of Page Hosting, scooped the coveted 'Innovation of the Year' award for its latest software product. The award, part of The News Business Excellence Awards, and presented at Portsmouth's Guildhall earlier this year, is bringing in new business.

Graham says: "The award has made a real difference to the business and we are extremely busy. We have won a number of contracts after people heard of the award win".

The Page Designer, now run from Petersfield and Portsmouth, is a highly innovative and technical company building a name for itself across the south. Graham works with Greg Curtis of Liss, aged 21, whom he met at Bohunt School, Liphook when they were 11, before going on to Alton College together. Graham took the bold step of starting The Page Designer when he was just 16, and Greg joined Graham in business in 2000 as web designer. Andy Barker of Copnor who is 19, joined the company last year and is training to assist Graham in the networking and computer maintenance role.

Graham started writing software at the age of 10 and was always using computers in lunch break and after school, whilst Greg has always been interested in art and design.

The award-winning Page emerge software helps companies send out personal emails to large numbers of people, using computer equipment efficiently and cost-effectively.

Graham said: "We understand computers and the Internet inside out. Our aim is to demystify IT and help companie make the most of their computer systems and the business benefits offered by the world-wide web. If we can make the new technologies far more user-friendly and affordable then we are satisfied."

Page Hosting is run by Directors Tom White and Graham Allen.
