As part of our ongoing commitment to providing you with the best possible Internet services, we are performing a series of major service upgrades which will significantly increase the performance and reliability of your hosting and e-mail services - at no extra cost to you.
Ensuring that visitors access your site at the fastest speeds is a top priority and, with this in mind, we are increasing the speed of our Internet connectivity by over fifty times, providing plenty of headroom for expansion and ensuring content is delivered to visitors as quickly as possible.
All web servers are being moved onto new servers, which are over twice as fast as our previous equipment.
Reliability is another major concern amongst business users, as web sites become an integral part of their sales and marketing strategies. The new server equipment boasts many new reliability features including duplicated components, which can be replaced without even turning the system off, and continuous data backup to ensure there is no data loss in the event of a disk failure. Connectivity to the core network will be delivered directly by switched Fast Ethernet, removing many potential points of failure, enabling us to provide you with an extremely reliable service.
With many users now worrying more than ever about physical as well as system security, we have taken steps to improve this too. The core network and our main servers are now housed in a new location in London's Docklands which features 24/7 monitored and recorded closed circuit television and security guards on-site around the clock. Access to data floors and equipment is limited to authorised personnel by security keys and visual identity checks to make sure your data is kept physically secure.
